Carrying on from the success of last years Two Kings, we thought we’d make the same composition again in 2023. We loved the exuberant bouquet of  spiced fruit that emerged and couldn’t wait to have another go. Last year was a mild winter and this affected all our blends; fermentation was more active care had to be taken to rack often and keep the ciders going at a steady pace. We’re very pleased with Two Kings 2023 – it has all the aromas of 2022 but a lightness of texture and lots of bubbles, which offers a lovely contrast to the rich depth of the previous years cider.

Two Kings is made with fruit from the orchard at Woolston, which like the Cadbury orchard is on the Montgomery Family farm, very close to the dairy. Despite being a similar age to the Cadbury orchard, the Woolston trees are leaner looking, more rustic, lichen covered and resplendent with mistletoe.  We feel the cider carries a different spirit to the other orchards and this seems appropriate given the ancient spirit of place.
