A refreshing, easy drinking, stout-coloured cider with a gentle sweetness, soft leafy tannins, and an autumnal and slightly medicinal aroma.

The theme of Farmhouse Blend continues on from 2019 – a blend of lots of varieties, but primarily of local apple Yarlington Mill; the dame of Somerset cider apples, with its pink skin, red flushing and distinctive conical heart shape.

* In 2020 the pressed juice from this apple ran from the press a surprisingly dark, stout-like colour; hence the deep pale-ale colour of the finished cider. Discolouration of cider can sometimes be a result of oxidation [the cider seeing an excess of air during fermentation] but this we know this not to be the case here. This could instead be partly due to the maturity of the trees, which in some years produce very concentrated and unusually characterful fruit. From talking with other cider makers, it seems that this rarity can occur in certain years and not others. Don’t be fooled by it’s appearance – it’s our best selling cider of 2020 and there’s something that really excites us about it.
