ROOT COLA

Ingredients: Grapefruit, water, sugar, lime vinegar, infused Monmouth Coffee [Decaffeinated], sarsaparilla, quassia bark, mixed citrus peels, fresh rosemary

We wanted to make a cordial that was reminiscent of root beer or old fashioned cola, but that had the quinine-like bitterness of tonic. This delicious flavour also uses Monmouth Coffee [decaf] as the base – you wouldn’t know its coffee-flavoured though, the beans add a broad, but uplifting ‘caramelly’ base for all the other flavours to shine.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Make yourself a non-alcoholic G & T, with a shot of Grapefruit tonic, Indian tonic water, a splash of sparkling water and a squeeze of lemon or lime. Be sure to garnish with a sprig of rosemary for a lovely herbal finish!
