SERVING SUGGESTION
Our latest batch is super tangy, rich and fragrant! We had lots of delicious Quince Vinegar from 2022 ready and wanted to make a more ‘shrub-like’ cordial; perfect if you like a more zingy acidity in your drink.
Serve it simply with sparkling water, add lemon juice if you like it even more powerful. Fabulous with hot water too on a cold night.
If you’re feeling more adventurous we suggest you try your hand at the following:
CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL
Add to a cocktail glass:
Crushed ice
Generous shot of Quince cordial
Dash of orange bitters
Top up with sparkling wine
Stir well & garnish with citrus peel & star anise
QUINCE SOUR
Pre-chill your cocktail glass in the freezer
Place the following ingredients in a cocktail shaker:
1.5 Oz Dark spirit such as Brandy, Amber Rum or Rye Whiskey [but any spirit will do!]
0.5 Oz Lemon juice
0.5 Quince cordial
Stir in the shaker and taste your cocktail mix. If it needs more acidity top up with lemon juice. If it’s not ‘quincey’ enough – add more cordial.
Now add a 0.5-1oz egg white to your shaker.
Add plenty of ice and shake vigorously for a good 10 secs.
Pour through a fine mesh strainer into your chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange zest and finely grated nutmeg.
